In its anhydrous form, Sodium Carbonate, often known as Soda Ash, is the sodium salt of carbonic acid.

Soda Ash is most widely used in the production of glass, but it's also found in a variety of other items, including powdered detergents and soaps, rechargeable batteries, metallurgical operations, and in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical sectors. It may also be used to remediate acid rain-affected lakes and enhance their alkalinity.
